Happy Easter!

Our Easter Bunny is very random and brought dried fruit, markers, bathing suits, flip flops, garden tools and spin toothbrushes!  Avery was, hands down, most excited about the toothbrushes!

He also filled a few eggs and hid them in the living room.  Nothing like eating peeps at 7:30 in the morning!

Trying to get some family shots after church is not an easy task....

Love this sweet girl...

Trying to get a shot of Avery and Gray together...

Classic...

It's never a problem getting Avery to pose for a picture, but I just couldn't get one of Grayson by himself.

He wasn't shy about giving kisses to Aunt RaRa though!

The Sassamans!

We have had the wonderful pleasure of getting together with our PSU friends and their families twice in the past year.  Our dear friends, The Sassamans, hosted all of us at their beautiful home and surrounding farm yesterday.  Avery has been talking about going to "The Sassamans" for the past month!  And it was everything she imagined and more....

We enjoyed plentiful sunshine, laughs and lots of food!  The kids had an Easter Egg hunt too!

Grayson only got two eggs, but he was perfectly fine with that.

This is Ian and Avery hunting together...

Avery didn't even seem to mind that it was 9 boys plus her (4 baby boys were too little to participate in the hunt)! Someone in the group better start producing some girls!

Here is what the daddies did most of the day....

Grayson had quite an affinity towards the twins!  Here he is cozying up with Nolan...

And here he is giving Seth some kisses!
Adam enjoyed them as well!

Avery had the added bonus of getting to bottle feed Ivan and Rufus, two of the baby lambs.  What a great experience!

She also played with alot of "boy" toys that we don't have at our house.  For some reason she really loved the gun!

As usual, it was such a wonderful day seeing old friends and watching our kids have fun with their kids....it was well worth the crankiness that followed after a day of no naps and lots of sugar!

Avery's Easter Chapel and Art Show

This past Monday night (after it snowed all day), Avery got dressed in her Easter outfit and we headed over to her preschool for her annual Easter Chapel and Art Show.

Here she is waving to her fan club in the audience....

It's amazing how much her confidence has grown since last year when she stood on stage and barely sang a word.  Adam and I are actually a little worried that she's becoming OVERLY confident lately!

Just look at these facial expressions!  This is her "boyfriend" Gregory, by the way.  He is quite a cutie!

Grayson chilled in the aisle and scribbled on a notepad.

Here are the artist's featured masterpieces....

We're very proud of her!

Easter is almost here

We enjoyed some Easter festivities this weekend!

Grayson looked too cool for what we were about to go do!

Getting ready for "the hunt"

No fear of the Easter Bunny this year!  Plus, Avery has it all figured out now... "You know Mommy, it's not a REAL bunny.  It's just a person in a bunny costume.  This one is a girl. I saw her hair."

Curly Sue

Avery is really into having curly hair right now.  Probably because she has to have it curled for her upcoming dance recital.  Her Nonna bought her some rollers, so we thought we'd try them out Friday night.

Here is the "before"....

And here is the "after"....

Avery twirls her hair to help her fall asleep at night, so we really wondered how she would do without being able to twirl it.  Obviously, she found a way take the curler in the front out so she could twirl it...and it left the whole front section uncurled!

Smoooooch!

Just going through older pictures and came across this one from a few months ago and had to share it....

Avery was pretending Grayson was her prince!

Best Buds!

If you're not sure what this is, look again....

it's a fort!  And Avery and Grayson are happily playing inside.

My heart melts about five times when I look at these two loving each other.  Hope it can stay this way for a while!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Even though we are not Irish (you'd think at least I was with my name), we love to celebrate any holiday, especially one that is all about the GREEN!

It has become a bit of a tradition now that their Mom-Mom sends the kids a card with stickers and a $1 bill in the mail for these special holidays.  They love it!  Grayson can even open his own mail now.

Ok, I made them pose for this one...and they hated it.  This was Avery's fake smile to just appease me.  They removed the inappropriate beer paraphernalia immediately after this.  These hats are special souvenirs Mommy and Daddy saved from their younger years of St. Patty's Day Pub Crawls.

If you look closely (click on each picture to enlarge it), you can see that a leprechaun visited this morning and made their milk green!

Later, he was back again to make a green "shamrock" smoothie, which the kids loved!

The smoothie was made green by adding spinach (you can't taste it a bit), but the milk was made green with food coloring.

Happy St. Patty's Day!  Erin Go Bragh!

Hide and Seek

Grayson's new favorite game is hide and seek.  However, we don't usually we know he is playing until we notice that the house got significantly less noisy.  When we look around, we find him being very quiet and still (a little too quiet!)...usually he is in one of the cupboards, but behind the bed is also a favorite.

Just checking to make sure we're still playing....

Then, he makes his big reveal and laughs hysterically!

Couldn't be more different

This is a typical scene in our house before bedtime when we allow a small amount TV watching.  Avery is so mesmerized by the screen, she cannot hear a word that we say.  Meanwhile, Grayson doesn't even realize that the TV is on.

And Guster just wants to snuggle with someone.

Dancing Queen

Avery started taking dance lessons this past fall.  Last week was the first time that Mommies were allowed to visit and watch what the girls do in class.  I'm really hoping that Avery was just acting silly because her Mommy was there and that she is not like that every week.

Let's just say, she seems to be a bit more into socializing with others than actually dancing and following instructions.
Although, she had no problem with "freeze" dancing, which is when they are able to all do their own style of dancing and then have to "freeze" when the music stops.
Anyone want tickets to the upcoming recital in May? It should be interesting!
