Happy Easter!

I feel like Easter really snuck up on us this year, even though it was quite late this year.  

We enjoyed a nice weekend though. The kids painted eggs and decorated them with stickers. 

 The Easter Bunny came with some goodies, including the traditional bathing suit to get them excited for summer! He did not bring dried fruit like he usually does - Daddy was in charge of picking up the food treats, so they got straight up candy!!

They started the Easter Egg hunt right away in the morning

 Once Grayson figured out there was candy in some of the eggs, he didn't feel like hunting anymore - he just wanted to eat!

 After church, we proceeded to get a few pictures of the family using the camera's timer, but these never come out as good as I had hoped for.

 Then I tried to get pictures of the kids. Avery, of course, is easy peasy. However, even with the bribe of more candy, Grayson is hard to get a good shot of! You can definitely see his personality through these few pics below...

This girl is ready for kindergarten....

but is kindergarten ready for her?!?!

About two weeks ago we had registration for Kindergarten (I know, how is this possible?!?) Avery will be attending Spring Garden Elementary School  in the fall (not the closest school to our house, but this is where they told us she is going!) This is the same elementary school that her Daddy (and Aunt Brynn and Uncle Brett) went to. It is also where her big cousin Madi goes currently (which makes Mommy feel a little relieved to know she will have someone to look after her on the bus)

At registration, the kids went into a room with the teachers and the parents (just Mommy this time) went into a room with the principal to learn about the school. When we were done, we met in the hall to get our kids. As this was happening, one of the teachers asked if Avery's Mommy was here.  I nervously put my hand up. This teacher told me that Avery shared with them that her Daddy's name is Adam Levine and he is a famous rock star...oh, and also that he is the sexiest man alive! 

I think she made quite the impression. 

Lesson learned - watch what we talk about at home! ; )

Easter Chapel and Art Show

Later that evening, both kids had their Easter Chapel and Art Show at Preschool. This was the first and last time the two of them have a show together there since it is the only year they both are in preschool at the same time.  

Here they are before the show. Avery was overly excited to wear her pink Easter dress (hand-me-down from cousin Madi) and Grayson was too cool for school in his pink shirt (he was mad and called it a "girl" shirt, but we think he looked quite handsome in it!)

 The four year old stands in the back and the two year olds are in the front, so it just so happens that all of my pictures are of my two year old this year...

 I CANNOT even stand the cuteness of this boy!

Crayola Factory

Since the kids were SO good on the way from Uncle Brett and Aunt Jenny's and since we already took of work because we thought we'd still be driving home, we decided to extend our vacation and do something really fun for the kids.  

We decided the Crayola Factory in downtown Easton would be prefect and they had a blast!

 I knew the canal museum upstairs would be Gray's favorite part!

 Coincidentally, the Easter Bunny was there too! This worked out because we never had time to do our usual pictures with the Easter Bunny or any egg hunts this year.  

You can see how Avery is nudging Grayson towards the bunny because she is not sure how she feels about him and wants her brother to go first...

 So we were about to pay a ridiculous of amount of money to get their picture with him when we realized that Grayson would look like he had no legs in the picture (green pants in front of a green screen is no good!) So I snapped a few (free) shots of my own and then went on our way!

 Then we enjoyed an outdoor lunch at the Brew Works to continue enjoying the beautiful day! 

We finally met Miss Hadley!

We finally did it....after many weeks of anticipation and planning, we woke our kids up at 2 am, hopped in the car and drove through the early am hours until we made it to Wilmington, NC (about 11 hours later)...home of Dawson's Creek, the setting of many Nicholas Sparks books, and of course...the home of the cutest little 3 month old girl, our niece, Hadley Reagan!  

She was worth the (very long) car ride....just look at this face! She is such a happy, mellow little girl and just a delight to be around.

The kids absolutely adored their newest little cousin.

We enjoyed Hadley cuddles, but also got some cuddles from their boxers, Sadie and Bodie, as well.

And story time with Uncle Brett (note the book title!) This was not a personalized book...it really exists. It's a story about a girl named Hannah Levine who is learning about Passover : )

They also had lots of play time...

and toys thanks to their 4 year old neighbor : )

and they were thrilled to be on a beach in April

While Hadley snoozed away in her stroller.

Avery and Gray were happy to share a room and bed there. They were exhausted by the end of each day.

 We had planned to drive half way home and stay at hotel, but the kids were actually pretty great on the way home so we just drove straight through and made it home on Sunday night.

It helped that Grayson finally napped....

 and that Mommy bought lots of dollar stores treats like these gooey bugs to keep them entertained.

Can't wait to see this sweet face again in a few weeks when Hadley and Aunt Jenny come to Bethlehem!
