House update

Well, it's official...Someone else is moving into our dream home!  Glad it worked out for the other family, but I really wanted it to be us.  When will this nightmare end? Sigh....

House update

We've been getting alot of congratulations on selling our house.  THANK YOU! However, I guess I was premature with the excited blog I posted on Wednesday. We have been on a roller coaster of emotions this week.  On Wednesday, things were looking to be in our favor.  However, come Thursday, things significantly changed.....

Long story short: 

1. The owners of the house we want to buy have decided to hold out for their initial buyers to get approved for their mortgage (those buyers are self-employeed and it has been taking very long to get approval. They already exceeded the timeline that was in their contract and can now back out at any time to accept our offer if they desired).

2. The buyers who wanted our house do not want to sign a contingency offer. They want to close on May 24th regardless if we find a new house by then or not.   We said, sorry, but we don't want to be homeless!  They offered us a ridiculous "compromise" which would involve us being able to stay in our house and paying them rent (that is more than our current mortgage) until we find a new home (plus we'd have to throw some other things in there for them... our washer, dryer, the hutch that my grandfather made - which we already said was non-negotiable!)

Each day we speak with our realtor, we get a little more info that makes our heads spin.  This morning, she said that the buyers who want our house apologized for the crazy offer. They do still love our house and would be willing to make another offer in the future if we find another home.  Meanwhile, the owners of the house we want to buy are giving their initial clients until April 18th to get approved for the mortgage.  What happens after that, we don't really know.....  Will they accept our offer then? Who knows!  It seems that all parties involved do want to make it happen, but there are so many variables and so many things that can go wrong.

Adam has pretty much moved on, but I know I won't be able to until my dream house is officially off the market for good.  So I am still holding on to a little bit of hope that it will work out.  I know it is in God's hands and if it's meant to be, it will be.  We appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers to help get us through all this mess!

Well, it's no fun to post on the blog without a picture.  My facebook friends already saw this one, but here it is....

I thought all week I was having GI issues due to stress with the house stuff.  Turns out I had a GI bug (Avery got it today).  Of course, Thursday was picture night for Avery's dance class.  I was trying to get her ready, but had to keep running to the bathroom.  While I was in there, I hear Avery saying "ugh, Mommy, Grayson has my lipstick!" It was all over his hands as well when he proceeded to hug Avery and got red lipstick all over her dance tights.  What a wild night!

Our House if (kind of) famous!

Our relator, Therese, is president of the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors and she was asked by a local news station to be interviewed for a piece on how to get your house ready for selling.  She asked if we would mind if they used our home as the location for filming.  Of course, we said YES!  

Free publicity is never a bad thing.

Ironically, the night before this news piece aired, we got an offer on our house that we accepted.  Meanwhile, the house we loved (and put an offer on back in February) has potentially become available again.  We are anxiously awaiting their acceptance of the offer we put in last night.  Finger crossed and lots of prayers that all of the stars align to make this move happen!  This mommy is tired of cleaning!

Cinderella Tea Party

Today was the long awaited Mommy/Avery date day!  We got dressed up and went to a local tea room for a Cinderella tea party. We try not to encourage the "princess stuff" too much, but when I heard about this I couldn't NOT take her! I mean, she practically has the book memorized and we act it out several times a day.  

Avery made me practice my curtsey before leaving.

Once Cinderella entered, Avery was immediately done eating and made me wipe her face and hands so that Cinderella didn't see her being messy.

Dreams coming true...

She then proceeded to talk Cinderella's ear off.  Mostly about her brother, her upcoming dance recital, and all of the fashionable items she was wearing today.   

Can you tell she talks with her hands a lot? She had Cinderella cracking up by the end! 

We think spring is finally here!

Friday afternoon was gorgeous, so we finally got to spend some time outdoors!

Grayson is trying to get the hang of blowing bubbles....

Avery is now a pro on her trike!

Looks like she may need to pass it down to Grayson soon as he was very interested in it.  We do plan on getting him a more masculine helmet.  

They got out their snow shovels to "plant a (stone) garden" on the driveway.  At least they are getting some use out of the shovels...since they didn't get to use them much for actual snow this winter.

D-D-D-Dora

Our lives revolve around showings these days.  Tuesday night we had a showing that was scheduled right over our usual dinner time.  Since we never go out to eat on a weeknight, we thought it would be a good excuse to do so.  Then, I remembered that Applebee's has characters every Tuesday.  I used to always think...who are these lucky people who go out to dinner on a Tuesday?  We were them this week....and we got to meet DORA the explorer!!! 

Avery was thrilled!

Grayson was fascinated and surprisingly, not creeped out at all...

 he really enjoyed holding her hand.

Flower Child

Avery came home on Monday with her hair all done up in braids.  This what happens after an afternoon with her Aunt Brynnie!

Coupled with her "I Love Nature" t-shirt, she looked like a girl from the 60's.  Reminds me of myself back in high school when I used to get together with my girlfriends and braid each other's hair like this.
