Clean House

As most of you know, our house has been on the market for over 6 months now and it is a huge challenge keeping it clean and ready for showings at all times. Our realtor praises us for how nice of a job we do with this, considering having two little kids.  Little does she know, we put those kids to work to keep it that way!!

Then, within a few minutes of coming back home after a showing, all of the toys that we had stuffed into one toy bin in the living room are now all over the floor.  If she only knew....

P.S. Someone please buy our house so we can play with all of our lonely toys that are packed away in the basement!

Almost Spring Day at The Steel Stacks

We are very blessed to live in a city that has so many (free!) things to do with our kids.  We ventured out to SteelStacks this morning for some live kids music and dancing. 

 

Grayson would not dance without his snack cup....

 But nothing could stop Avery from doing one of the things she loves most...dancing!

Princess Avery

For those of you who are not around Avery on an everyday basis, you may not realize that she is quite obsessed with princesses...mainly Cinderella and Snow White at the moment.  One day we found her in the living room like this on top of our coffee table,  apparently awaiting a kiss from her true love....

Chocolate Mousse

I whipped up some chocolate mousse today and needless to say, the kids loved it!

Grayson was not shy about it...

while Avery ate it a bit more politely.

Did I mention, he REALLY liked it?

It was immediately followed by a bath.

Bottle caps!

It amazes me how much fun the kids can have with random items found around the house. We have mugs filled with bottle caps (that we probably started saving in college) above the bar in our basement.  Avery spotted them high up on the shelf and asked to play with them.  So I said, sure!

 I love the differences in how the two of them chose to play with them.  Grayson made a huge, messy pile, while Avery chose to line them up in a nice straight row.  

Then Grayson started throwing them and Avery decided to move on....

Grayson is quite the eater and he can now go into the cupboards and help himself to anything within reach.  Cheerios are a favorite.  Avery likes to join in whatever Grayson is doing (and Gus too!) 

So, they shared a pre-breakfast snack together....

next thing I knew, they were eating Cheerios off the floor with their mouths!

Of course, I ran to get the camera...and then made them stop because that is just gross!

Re-united in the tub!

After being unable to take baths together for over a year (due to Avery's potentially contagious skin condition), Avery and Grayson now take joint baths and it is oh so much fun! It helps when Mr. Bubbles foam soap is involved too!

and lots of fun is had while Mommy and Daddy sit back, watch, laugh and snap some pics!
