Christmas Day

Christmas morning came and even though *this* was waiting for them downstairs, Avery came into our room at 7 am (she let us sleep in!) and very sweetly said "Merry Christmas Mommy and Daddy!" She insisted that before we went downstairs that Mommy open the gift from her, Grayson and Daddy. We were shocked that she wasn't begging to go downstairs. We got Grayson up and we actually all hung out in our bedroom for quite some time before they even asked to go down! Avery even remembered to say "Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus."
Their "big gifts" were a toy box for each of their rooms and a new bike (a balance bike for Gray and a pink bike with training wheels for Avery). But the real fun was with the stocking stuffers! How excited they get to open all the little random items....such as Mr. Bubbles, raisins, olives, band-aids and crafts!

Once everything was unwrapped, they wanted to try out their new bikes. So we headed to the basement! This is definitely the plus side to not having a finished basement yet.  They had a ball and continue to ride down there everyday. Sometimes, Mommy can even multitask and get in a workout  while they are riding since the treadmill is in the basement as well. It's a win win!

Santa always brings our first born a little something too! Something to chew on and new blankets.
We hosted Adam's family in the afternoon.  Since Uncle Brett and Aunt Jenny are expecting their little girl any day now, the kids "face timed" with them while they opened their gifts from them.
Gray got mittens and a hat and Avery got slippers that look like ballet shoes. They proceeded to do a little dance for them into the iPad and wore them for most of the day.
While Mommy distracted the kids upstairs, Great Aunt Lisa and Uncle Scott set up the table and chairs they got the kids, along with balloons. They were quite possibly more excited about the balloons....which are still flying high in our house to this day!
Here are some other happy faces opening more gifts...

Adam insisted that if we were hosting this year, we would eat "his" Christmas meal of beef tenderloin.  I think Aunt Lisa reaaaalllyy liked it!
There is never a shortage of desserts around here.....

We waited to take too long to take our group picture, so we are missing a few people from it (Brynn, Matt, and Uncle Bobby)
Another wonderful day of celebrating! Can't believe it is all over so fast.  Christmas keeps getting better and better every year.  So there is so much to look forward to this year! Hope you all have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas as well!
